What if your clothes are more than just a fabric? Tie dye is a traditional resist dyeing technique used in adding value to clothes. Dawn's reverberation is a design project I created in my second year. This project took me precisely 5 to 7 days from design concept to final sewn garment and a really original design work that I'm extremely pleased to exhibit
Ruching and machine stitch resist tie-dye procedures were used to dye a white poplin cotton fabric in yellow and blue cold reactive dye. The fabric was dyed in alternative order which created a yellow and blue striped design. As the fabric was ruched the colour was majorly restricted to the top portion of the fabric which creates a gradient flow of colour going from yellow and blue to white. The dyed cloth is sewn into a cropped shirt.
