WAX PORTRAYAL

Mechanical and chemical resistance are the two methods used in tie-dye. Chemical resists are also known as batik, an Indonesian method of applying wax resistance dyeing to the entire fabric. When it is immersed in the dye, the regions that are not covered with wax turn coloured, while the sections where the wax has been applied stay white.

Simple line designs were created for this collection, repeated on the cloth, and coloured with red Naphthol.
